Ro dined on her first ‘solid’ food tonight! she had a tasty appitizer of a 6 ounce bottle (she’s got quite an appitite) And followed that up with about 2 tablespoons of baby rice cereal I fed to her with a spoon!
At first she just kept thrusting her tounge out and pushing the cereal out, but about 10 minutes in, she started pushing her tounge upwards and actually swallowing it! I knew the first time she swallowed it because she wrinkled her face up and looked at me like “WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS!?” but then ate it anyways.
Cause she’s, as her dad says, sturdy. Lol, she’s not fat at ALL, she’s just looooong and hungry!
But aside from that, she’s trying really hard to get on a “normal” feeding schedule. She’ll eat 6 oz in the am (she actually ate 8oz this morning and shocked me!) and then 6 oz around 1, and then 6 oz around 7 or so. She’ll have maybe 2 to 4 ounces in between the big feedings, which sounds to me like the formula just isn’t heavy enough to hold her over until the next big feeding. Of course there will be snacks, but she eats those small feedings like two times inbetween each big one. Just seems excessive.
So she’s sleeping soundly now, and hopefully she’ll sleep well tonight and we can have more tasty cereal together!!
Oh, and after she gets the hang of the cereal, I have some carrots, peas, green beans, squash, pears, and apples for her. I got a little overly excited.
Also, once she’s REALLY on solids, I’m making all her food for her. Super excited.
